The Bucharest University of Economic Studies is a research-focused institution that arranges study programs and academic research in the disciplines of sociology, economics, administration, law, and humanities. The Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies was founded in Bucharest on April 6, 1913, pursuant to Royal Decree No. 2972, which is an important date in the history of Romanian higher economic education. The university changed its name to Bucharest University of Economic Studies in 1967.
