Admission requirements in general

When applying to DTU, you must meet two sets of entrance requirements:

• The following are the general entry requirements: You must have completed an upper secondary exam equivalent to the Danish upper secondary exam.
• The following are the specific entry requirements: Certain disciplines must be studied at specific levels.

All other nations

When you apply for admission, the DTU bachelor admission team evaluates your subject levels if you are applying based on an upper secondary test from any other nation. To find out if you meet the admission standards, you can also apply for a pre-assessment between 1 September and 1 November.

English language proficiency needed

All international applicants must demonstrate their English language skills by passing one of the tests listed below (see below for exemptions). Test results are not automatically sent to DTU, so:

• When registering for the language test, please be sure you ask for a paper copy of the results. 
• On optagelse.dk, be sure to include your score report with your application.

The minimal scores for the following exams are accepted by DTU:

The TOEFL and IELTS exams are valid for two years. Accordingly, the exam must be more than two years old on July 5 of the year you apply for admission.

*Please take notice that language test results will only be approved after being electronically verified by DTU. If you decide to take the TOEFL exam, please remember to include DTU's TOEFL code (1684) so that DTU can check the results online. The applicant is accountable for making sure DTU can access the online score. The phrase "My Best Scores" is not acceptable.
