The Japanese government maintains a policy that exempts nationals from needing a visa. However, the exemption only applies to transient activities like attending conferences, traveling, or conducting business. Even if you are visa-exempt and want to visit Japan for a period longer than 90 days, you must still apply for a visa according to the nature of your trip.

  • Fill out this form before coming to Japan and give it to the immigration officer when you arrive at the airport.
